Description:
1. It is the most popular game fish in North America, possibly in the world. Largemouth bass are available in every state of the U.S. They are pursued with a level of enthusiasm that can only be described as "fanatical."  Once you've experienced the vicious hit and explosive power of a trophy largemouth on a fly rod, you too will be hooked for life!  Join award winning author and presenter Joe Cornwall as he weaves a bit of piscatorial pop history with tips, techniques, tactics and flies for targeting ole' lineside.  It's sure to be a night of smiles, surprises and flat-out excitement!

2. The Ohio River??? That’s right!  The big water may be the last frontier for Buckeye fly fishers.  Join us for an afternoon of surprises as local fly fishing fanatic and award-winning author Joe Cornwall shares secrets of success for the more than 690 miles of a virtually unexplored (by fly fishers) fishery we all drive over, but rarely test.  You’ll learn which patterns are hot, what tackle you’ll need, and which seasonal opportunities give you the best chance at a memorable day on the water.   Don’t miss this chance to expand your fishing opportunities!  See what you’ve been missing in your own back yard!

Biography:

Joseph Cornwall grew up in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Fascinated by water from the very start, Joe was taught to fish by his grandfather, Joe Wager, at an early age. By the beginning of his freshman year in high school Joe had become a charter member of the newly formed Cape Cod chapter of Trout Unlimited and was tying flies for a growing local customer base. Joe quickly progressed from tying flies to building fly and spinning rods, and assembling his own custom lead-core shooting heads in order to further entice the bluefish, salters and striped bass of Buzzard's Bay and Cape Cod.

Joe is an active member today with the Outdoor Writers Association of America, the Outdoor Writers of Ohio, the Federation of Fly Fishers, The Buckeye Fly Fishers, the International Game Fish Association, and the Mad River chapter of Trout Unlimited. He is an active conservationist and amateur naturalist. Joe serves as the Vice President of The Ohio Smallmouth Alliance.

A sales and marketing professional by trade, Joe has called Cincinnati home since 1984. Joe is the recipient of both the 2004 and 2005 1st Place Awards for Best Magazine Column from the Outdoor Writers of Ohio. Joe was also awarded the 2005 Media Achievement award for his book Fly Fishing Warm Water Rivers, first published in 2005. Joe writes two columns for Country Anglin' Outdoor Guide: On The Fly, which explores fly fishing opportunities in the Midwest and Featured Fly, a fly tying column.

Joe's current projects include a fly tying DVD, scheduled for release in late 2006. Featuring six of the Midwest's hottest smallmouth, largemouth, wiper, and panfish patterns, the DVD will focus on original flies or adaptations of bass fishing classics that use three primary materials in their construction. Additionally, Joe has begun work on his second book Fly Fishing Warm Water Lakes and Ponds, due out in 2007.

Joe is an accomplished motivational speaker and presenter. He has lectured at many Midwestern fishing clubs and regional events on topics including fly tying, fly fishing, and resource conservation. Joe is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Cincinnati and is a long time lecturer and writer in the consumer electronics industry.
