Description:
Biography:
Andria Davis has been playing outside her whole life and began practicing yoga in 1990. She noticed that yoga helped her immensely in her outdoor sport endeavors, so she decided she wanted to share her knowledge and inspiration with other outdoors people. In 2002, she graduated the Asheville Yoga Center’s teacher training and began pursuing her dream. Andria is the creator of the yoga for outdoors sports series of DVDs and books, "Yoga for Paddlers," DVD, "Yoga for Cyclists" DVD and book, "Yoga for Hikers" DVD and book, and "Yoga for Climbers" DVD.
According to Andria, “Yoga is a vital tool to outdoor sports because it realigns the body, which gives the athlete more energy, and it improves cardiovascular performance and concentration. By practicing yoga, we learn to look within for guidance and thus gain better judgment in all that we do.”
Andria enjoys kayaking sponsorships from Pyranha kayaks, Lendal paddles, Astral Buoyancy PFDs, and Immersion Research.
When she’s not on the yoga mat or in her kayak, Andria also enjoys mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, star-gazing, and traveling all over with her husband, Leland, and her dog, Hudson. She and Leland run Brushy Mountain Publishing, which produces their guidebooks and yoga for outdoor sports videos.
