Description:
SCA, the Student Conservation Association, is a nationwide conservation force of college and high school volunteers who protect and restore America’s parks, forests, and other public lands. The high school crew program is a tuition-free opportunity to build hiking trails, protect threatened habitats, sleep under the stars and connect to the land amazing ways. College students can participate in expense paid internships in over 60 different academic fields, including visitor contact, environmental education, backcountry, working with animals, and trail work, while earning money for school and having the chance to make professional contacts. SCA partners with agencies like the National Park Service, the National Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Indian Affair, and US Fish and Wildlife Service, among other state and local agencies. All SCA volunteers have the opportunity to give back to the planet, perform hands-on service to nature, and experience the chance of a lifetime to live and work in some of America’s most beautiful lands.
